Clays (attapulgie, Kaolin, Fullers Earth) Talc Chalk (whiting) Sepiolite (hydrous magnesium silicate) magnesium Tinsilicafe Diatomaceous Earth Methyl Cellulose Clays and Diatomaceous earth are usually the best. Do not use whiting or iron type clays, such as Fullers Earth, with acidic chemicals. 

1. Initially, a grinding process takes place. The amount of grinding is determined by a number of factors, such as age and color of the marble, depth of scratches, traffic wear, acid etching, and lippage. 2. Secondly, the marble is sealed with a high tech penetrating sealer. 

Ever notice a recently installed exterior stone floor with a black/brown growth on the grout joints. This is where water that has been saturated into the mortar setting bed, and in the heat of the day, escaping through the grout which is the path of least resistance.
