Polyplasdone XL and XL-10 super disintegrants are synthetic, insoluble, but rapidly swellable, crosslinked homopolymers of N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (Figure 1) that differ by particle size. Polyplasdone super disintegrants meet USP/NF, Ph. Eur and JPE pharmacopeial monographs for Crospovidone.
