The cation exchange capacity test carried out on this product shows a high amount of exchangeable Calcium & Magnesium (129me./100g which is good for plant growth. The high levels are a result of these elements being in an available form for the plant to immediately extract. 

The RDP Envessel Pasteurisation process uses a combination of lime and electrical heat to raise the temperature in biosolids above 70oC for 30 minutes to destroy pathogenic organisms. The lime also raises the pH above 12 for 24 hours to prevent reinfection. 

The RDP process was installed at North Head, Manly, Sydney in 1995. This plant produces Grade A stabilised biosolids from primary undigested cake that had been dewatered to 28% solids. The plant has the capacity of 2.5 dst/hour, and operates 24 hours per day.
