Pacer Mica Ore Geology Our ore deposit is geologically called a schist formation, schist simply meaning a homogeneous blend of differing minerals. In our deposit the predominant mineral is muscovite mica which has been compressed together with several other minerals. 

Also, in combination with the pure crystalline feldspar are well separated zones of quartz and mica. These well-separated formations allow us to select and transport to our mill site just the crystalline feldspar. This ore geology is unique to the Black Hills area and to Pacer. 

Pacer muscovite mica and potash feldspar products are used in a wide range of applications including plastics, rubber, coatings, ceramics, sanitaryware, drywall joint compound, and a variety of construction and automotive applications. 

Pacer Feldspar Reserves The crystalline feldspar products from Pacer are produced from several crystalline pegmatite deposits, which are separate from our mica reserves. Our crystalline feldspar is not a byproduct of our mica operations so availability is independent of other minerals production. 

In 1874 General George Armstrong Custer led an expedition into the Black Hills of Dakota Territory. Camping along a small stream, now called French Creek, General Custer and the men of the 7th Cavalry discovered gold.
